We are very happy to announce that Mosaic Conservation Course 2018 Algeria & Tunisia has started.
The “Direction de la Conservation et de la Restauration du Patrimoine Culturel Ministère de la Culture de l’Algérie” jointed the Mosaic Conservation Program (MCC) for the years 2018 and 2019, in the frame of the MOSAIKON initiative.
Two colleagues from the National Museum of Antiquities in Alger, Ameziane Yasmina and Abdelhamid Abdenour; two from the Archaeological Museum and Site of Tipasa, Fatiha Benchouche and Rihane Fethi and two from the National Museum of Cherchell, Hakem Mohammed Reda and Abbad Madjid will attend the first course 2018 together with two colleagues from the Museum of Sousse in Tunisia, Jamel Lazid and Anis Ouslati.
CCA is glad to welcome our colleagues at the Convento di San Nicola in Belmonte in Sabina in the beautiful fall-environment. We will be working and sharing all together our experiences and knowledge for the next 4 weeks.
Hand-on training will deal with the complex restoration process of the last mosaic fragment relayed on reinforced concrete of the Baia’s Hunting Mosaic, as well as experience maintenance and consolidation operations on in situ mosaics at the archaeological sites of Marco Simone and Cottanello.
