Welcome to our new blog series Readings in Mosaic Conservation, which presents key texts in mosaic conservation literature.
To inaugurate the series we selected an article by Gaël de Guichen, honorary president of the ICCM and Special Advisor to the Director-General of ICCROM, and Roberto Nardi, ICCM president and director of the Centro di Conservazione Archeologica. The authors reflect on the development of mosaic conservation in the course of the last decades, highlighting major changes of approach and debating future directions. They discuss the role of the ICCM in establishing mosaic conservation as a distinct field and in advancing its philosophy and practice.
