Archaeological Conservation Institute (ACI) is a collaboration between Randolph College, Virginia and Centro di Conservazione Archeologica (CCA) – Roma. At its third edition, the course was held under the direction of Roberto Nardi (CCA’s director) and Susan Stevens (Professor of Classics and archaeology, Randolph College). It took place between the 14th of May and the 182h of June 2013, and it was attended by undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of disciplines from Randolph College, Virginia. The course, four week long was held at the Convento di San Nicola in Belmonte in Sabina, Rieti and in the archaeological excavation of the nuraghe di Sant’Imbenia in Alghero, Sardinia. The 2013 program combined theoretical lectures with intensive laboratory practice, presentation and discussion of case studies and study trips to cultural destinations in Italy. Other cultural activities enabled the students to experience the rich gastronomic tradition of central Italy. The participants also took active part to the excavation campaign in Sant’Imbenia under the direction of Prof. Marco Rendeli of the University of Sassari.
