The present study analyzes the state of the mosaic heritage in the Mediterranean basin and its management 25 years after an analysis carried out on the same topics at the first AISCOM meeting in Ravenna.
Since 1993 many things have changed and great strides have been made: the cases of good practice are numerous, just as there are numerous institutions that are involved in this virtuous process in different ways.This presentation tries to critically read the current state of the subject, updates what has been highlighted twenty-five years ago and describes the contribution of the ICCM Foundation (International Committee for the Conservation of Mosaics) on the fortieth anniversary of its activities.
