Restoration of historical identities in Manama: the House of Nassif where the space is for tolerance and the minaret of Al Fadel Mosque

About this lecture

A lecture of Roberto Nardi on the studies and the conservation projects for two of the most prominent monuments of the old city of Manama: The House of Nassif, and The Minaret of Al Fadel Mosque.

On Sunday October 27th Roberto Nardi delivered a lecture at the Bahrain National Museum. At the presence of the local Authorities, a representative of Bahreni and Saudi entrepreneurs, the CONCEPT for the new “Nassif House, where the space is for tolerance” was presented. Dr Dawood Nassif, President of Bapco and nephew of Mouallen Nassif, to whom the house is dedicated, and the Italian Ambassador, HE Domenico Bellato also attended the lecture. The definitive planning for the restoration of the house was also illustrated.The presentation was concluded with an overview of the work in progress on the mosaic of the Al Fadel Mosque minaret.
